Dr. Samuel Flectcher, a 35 year member of NASAP died on September 3, 2009 in Danville, VA of long standing heart disease. Dr. Fletcher graduated from Carthage College and Bradley University. He received his doctorate in psychology from Florida State University. He then did a post graduate year at the Psycho-Analytic Institute of Los Angeles.
Dr. Fletcher moved to Danville, VA in 1977, where he was the Mental Health Program director for the Community Services Board. A few years later he went into private practice and developed the organization, AIMS, or Associates in Mental Health Service. AIMS rapidly grew and he remained as president of the organization until his death.
Dr. Fletcher is survived by his wife, Dr. Constance Fletcher, three sons and six grandchildren.
